[18F]F-PSMA-N5 is a novel fluorine-18 labeled radiopharmaceutical designed for positron emission tomography (PET) imaging of prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA)-positive lesions, primarily in patients with prostate cancer. As a diagnostic agent, it binds to PSMA, which is highly expressed on the surface of prostate cancer cells and certain other neoplasms. The use of fluorine-18 as the radionuclide provides advantages such as a longer half-life and higher production capacity compared to gallium-68-labeled tracers. Early clinical studies are evaluating its biodistribution, safety profile, and diagnostic efficacy in detecting primary tumors, recurrence, and metastasis in prostate cancer patients. Head-to-head trials are ongoing comparing [18F]F-PSMA-N5 with established tracers like [68Ga]Ga-PSMA-11 and [18F]F-PSMA-1007[6].
